Overseas scholarship for apprentices



The Australian Overseas Foundation GTA Scholarship is open.

If you’ve completed an apprenticeship or traineeship, and you’re between the age of 21 – 27, then you’re eligible to apply for this prestigious scholarship!

“The scholarship is designed to give keen young people the opportunity to travel overseas and to take up work with a prearranged host employer. Whilst overseas the scholarship winners can participate in further studies and training relevant to their career.”

The successful candidate will gain work experience overseas for a period of one to two years.

The best part is, that recipients of the scholarship can:

  • Partake in overseas travel.
  • Meet people in a foreign country and learn about their customs and lifestyle.
  • Extend technical expertise via appropriate on the job work experience.
  • Upon return to Australia the scholarship holder will have advanced employability as they have worked and possibly studied advanced courses in their chosen field whilst overseas.
  • Scholarship holders have been carefully selected by the selection committee and have come from high achieving background. Having won the AOF scholarship they have participated in a highly prestigious award program which is well recognized by business and industry.

Applications close on 12 August 2008.

The winner is presented on the 9th of October 2008.
