As part of The Institute for Trade Skills Excellence work to foster, acknowledge and reward excellence in trade skills teaching, the Australian Trades And Skills Teacher Of The Year Awards were established in 2007.
Australia turns out some of the most highly skilled tradespeople in the world.
In 2007, 18 teachers were recognized within their trades for excellence in teaching, as they go beyond the curriculum ensuring that their student’s skills are up to date with industry demands and equipped to find success and rewards within their chosen profession.
The National Trades And Skills Teacher Of The Year Awards was presented to Marion Fitzpatrick [Watch Video] at the Australian Training Awards at the Australian Training Awards run by the federal Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST) in Hobart on 8 November 2007.
The Institute would like to thank all teachers for participating in the inaugural Trades And Skills Teacher Of The Year Awards, and congratulate the winners.
