Showcasing excellence in training



Hi there everyone,

Last week The Institute for Trade Skills Excellence officially launched one of our key programs, the
Star Ratings Scheme. The new scheme is a great tool that will help prospective students, teachers and parents select the best possible course in their chosen trade skill.

Registered Training Organisations that undertake the ratings appraisal system will receive a One Gold Star, Two Gold Star, or Three Gold Star rating, providing students, employers and parents a reliable ratings system to distinguish excellence in trade training by evaluating teaching standards.

There were 20 Registered Training Organisations across the country that participated in the trial, which was officially launched by Minister for Vocational and Further Education, Andrew Robb AO MP, in Geelong.

I would like to make special mention of the registered training organisations that received either a two or three gold star rating in the inaugural ratings:

Congratulations to all those organisations that completed the trial of the ratings and I look forward to updating you as further organisations undertake the Star Ratings Scheme, helping students and employers to identify courses providing excellence in training.

So far over 100 applications have been received from Registered Training Organisations to participate.
